Tradeforus launches special 'Ploughing 21' Competition
While the National Ploughing Championships 2021 are taking place behind closed doors, and the fields at the Ratheniska site - which should be buzzing with some 300,000 people over the three days - lie dormant, farmers once again miss out on what can be the last day out of the year before the winter period kicks in.
It also comes as a blow to agribusinesses; the 'ploughing' is an event where businesses can meet and interact with customers over a cup of coffee. With the spectacle being cancelled for the second year in a row, the team here at Tradeforus is yet to make an appearance; 2022 will be the year we make our debut.
However, while we were not physically present at the event, Tradefous was a finalist in the Virtual Innovation Arena in 2020. Enhanced innovation and new technologies are some of the areas which always make an impression in late September, and that's what we do - provide innovative ways to trade livestock.
Our aim is to support and enable the growth of producer organisations, allowing farmers to trade collectively, rather than individually, in a professional, structured, efficient and transparent manner, while also facilitating the sale of animals farm-to-farm countrywide - both beef and dairy animals.
The Tradeforus platform is safely and securely linked to the Department’s Animal Identification and Movement (AIM) database, which allows farmers to make buying decisions based on reliable and accurate information when purchasing animals.
Unlike existing websites that advertise livestock, we include the animal’s accurate date of birth, movements, breed, residencies, days on farm, TB test dates and quality-assured farm status obtained from AIM on the beef side, while providing breeding and milk recording data, and additional herd details on the dairy side; this is information that can be trusted.
Positivity
While the last 18 or so months have been challenging for farmers, it has provided a positive market sentiment in most sectors. With Brexit - and Covid-19 in particular - presenting significant challenges, 2020 exports witnessed only a marginal 2% decline to €13 billion - showcasing the robust nature of the agricultural industry here in Ireland, and in particular Irish farmers.
So, to celebrate and acknowledge the hard working Irish farmer, Tradeforus is giving one lucky farmer the opportunity to win the Roan Heifer pictured...for FREE. To be in with a chance, just head over to the Tradeforus Facebook or Instagram (@tradeforus10) pages to find out how to enter.
